We are delighted to announce that following recent negotiations with Nova International, organisers of the world's biggest half marathon the BUPA Great North Run, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust will be the lead charity of their brand new flagship event; the BUPA Great Wales Run.

This 10k run in Cardiff Bay will take place on Sunday 29 July 2007 and its flat, fast route, which is perfect for both the serious athlete or those new to running, will take in the magnificent Barrage, where you have fresh water on one side of you and salt water on the other, finishing outside the Wales Millennium Centre.

The event is sure to be another fantastic event on the Great Runs calendar and which has already received the support of such prestigious athletes as Dame Tanni Grey Thompson, Britain's greatest ever Paralympian who plans to take part in the event, and world 110m record holder, Colin Jackson along with Welsh rugby legends JPR and JJ Williams.

Entries are now open so why not sign up Online today - around 7,000 entrants are expected in this first year.
